Sasural Muniya - Aakrosh

This ons is about Shreya’s another new Hindi song titled “Sasural Muniya” from the movie “Aakrosh”. Its composed by Pritam and again, it’s a solo :)

As the title suggests, its a song about marriage celebration. Its a peppy song with a traditional feel. It runs for 5 minutes approximately. Versatile Shreya modulates her voice according to the theme of the song and sounds absoultely fabulous. I don't want to praise myself but I want to say that even if Shreya sings any type of song, I will recognize her voice.I am proud to say that I understand her voice very well. Some of my friends found it hard to beleive that this song was sung by Shreya but I didn't understand why! And some people even compare Bela Shinde's voice to Shreya but I seriously don't find any point of comparison when the texture of voices are completely different.Anyway, before talking more about this issue, let me come back to the song. The chorus is one of the major parts of the song which gives a good Indian flavour to the song and the antaras are well made to suit the theme of the track. Needless to say, Shreya rocks!!

ps: I would seriously like to discuss on the issue of comparison of Shreya's voice with other singers soon!

pps: More new posts coming tomorrow.

Pyaar Itna Na Kar - A Flat

Well, I still have to write 5-6 more posts in the blog as there has been many new releases of Shreya recently and I really hope that it continues. This post is about her new Hindi song from the movie “A Flat”.

The song is titled “Pyaar Itna Na Kar”. Its composed by Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa Lahiri. Shreya has worked with him many times before in Hindi and Bangla. Coming back to the song, its a romantic song which runs for 5 minutes. Its a solo by Shreya. Frankly telling, Bappa's compositions never impressed me much before but this composition is totally awesome..just out of the world!! It falls in the category of Saasein Madhdham Hain from Kasak.Shreya is, as usual at her best. The instrumentation is awesome with very light western beats. The innterludes are simply mindblowing. The first interlude includes some light tune played on piano followed by light western beats and strings. The antaras are well composed and ofcourse, amazingly sung by our Shreya. I don't know what should I say about Shreya's singing. In each and every song, she leaves me speechless. Her rendition is so mesmerizing here. The second interlude is even more great, which involves a beautiful piece played on some string instrument. Shreya ends the song beautifully with her amazing short alaap. Hope no one will miss this masterpiece! Hats off!

Dil ko Chura Ke - Arohan

This post is about Shreya’s new Hindi song from a Bangla Movie..sounds different huh? Yes, it’s a bangle movie but the song which Shreya has sung is in Hindi.

The song is titled “Dil ko Chura Ke” . It’s a solo by Shreya which is composed by Suparno Kanti Ghosh. The song has a duration of 4 minutes 30 seconds. It starts with a beautiful humming by Shreya followed by a awesome piece played on sarangi. I liked the way Shreya sang “chale jaana na” after humming the portion of “dil ko chura ke”. It’s a very very sweet song and I liked it in the first hearing itself. The song has both the feelings of sadness and happiness, where the girl wants her lover to go but only after taking her heart. The lyrics are very sweet as well. Instrumentation has been kept in a light mode and do I need to say anything about Shreya’s singing? As I always say, she puts emotions in every single word. The lyrics gets its meaning only after the singer like Shreya gives them her beautiful voice .Hope you people will not miss the song!

Piriter Eto Jala Re - Bejonma

Next post is about a new Bangla track of Shreya from the movie “Bejonma”.Its composed by Bappi Lahiri. It’s a duet by Shreya and the composer himself.

To be frank, I am not a fan of Bappi Lahiri’s music but this song is fabulous. I had to check whether it was really composed by him. The song is so haunting and I still cannot get over it. The song starts with a haunting piece played on flute. Then, Bappi Lahiri starts with the song singing in high pitch. Shreya starts singing in the first antara. Just hear Eyi Raja and this song back to back, you will get to know that Shreya is the best in modulating voice. Thats the real singer! The interludes are well composed. Shreya’s humming at the end gives me big goosebumps. Hope you all will not miss this song..

Ps: More posts coming tomorrow.

Eyi Raja

I am here to write about a recent Telugu song of Shreya from the movie “Brindavanam”. The music of the film is composed by Thaman S and Shreya has alsso worked with him before in Jayeebhava (Telugu). Lets come to the song now.

The song is titled “Eyi Raja” and its a duet by our Shreya and Shankar Mahadevan, though there are some vocals in the starting by some other singer. The song starts with a folkish singing by a male singer and Shreya starts with her versatile voice and then , the beats follows. The song falls in the same category of Okkasari from Jayeebhava. I like the way Thaman manages the instrumentation. Shankar Mahadaevan has also done a great job. The interludes are fab. The song is a nice blend of peppy and folk flavor. Shreya, like always rocks! :)

Jhootha Hee Sahi

I know its been more than two weeks that I posted something in my blog. Thanks to my Ipod which was in service centre and I seriously cannot write about a song without hearing it in my Ipod. I am addicted to hear songs only through earphones now. Anyway, without wasting more time, let me proceed with my real work! :)

As you already know, Shreya has sung two songs in Abbas Tyrewala's Jhootha Hi Sahi….one solo and other being a duet which is topping the charts nowadays.Lets talk about the duet first!

The duet song is titled "Cry Cry".Its sung by Shreya and Rashid Ali.I even posted the trailer of this song in one of the previous posts. It’s a mixture of both a fun and a romantic track. The good thing is that the song is promoted very well and its already a chartbuster. The beats in the starting are very impressive. The song has a very soothing effect. This is a song which will be liked by every music lover. The guitar piece in the first interlude is quite nice but Rashid’s voice never impressed me much. Shreya rocks like always. The moment she enters the song, she takes the song to another outstanding level. She has sung her lines very cutely and finally the song is ended with sweet vocals of Shreya.

Next song is a solo by Shreya, with some chorus part by Suzzane. Its titled “Pam Pa Ra”. The song is not yet promoted well and I hope it gets promoted soon. I can call the song as Lattoo – Part 2. As we know, Shreya is the most versatile singer and she can sing any type of song easily and this song is again a slap on few critics. It’s a fun song and as usual, Shreya does justice to it.Its a unique experiment by Rahman.

Hope you all will like the tracks!

Anwar (Malayalam)

Finally, the most awaited songs of Shreya have released. Yes, I am talking about Anwar. The movie which was already making waves among Shreya fans and the great news is that, its Malayalam this time.

Shreya has sung two songs in the movie. One sung by four singers (though fully sung by Shreya, others singers are chorus singers) and the other one is a duet with Naresh Iyer. Music has been composed by Gopi Sundar who also composed Vennilave which still is a favorite among her fans, and will always stay.

Lets talk about "Kizhakku Pookkum". It s been sung by Shreya, Sabbari Brothers, Navin Iyer & Raqueeb Alam. It runs for 5 minutes 7 seconds. The song is a perfect blend of Qawalli and Carnatic music. The song starts with a harmony by a chorus singer followed by a background music played on harmonium. Shreya starts with the song beautifully with clappings supporting her at the background. Since its a qawalli, so you might be aware which beats this song would be having. Shreya's vocals completely melts in your heart. The composition is so rich and fresh. The chorus singing "Khalbila Thee" is an major phase of the song. The song is supported by amazing instruments like harmonium, dholak, tabla, sarangi, flute, etc. The interludes are composed fantastically by Gopi Sundar. The antaras are well composed suiting the theme of the song. I don't know what adjectives should I use to praise the singing of Shreya here. Sabbari Bros have done an awesome job in the song as well. The amazing sargam in the second interlude adds the best finishing touch to the song. I am sure the song will become a rage all over, specially down Kerala. Shreya has used different harkats.I am not surprised as she is the queen of expressions. I won't be surprised if I see Shreya winning a Filmfare for this one.

Next song is titled "Kanninima Neele" which is a duet by Shreya Ghoshal & Naresh Iyer.It runs for 3 minutes 53 seconds. It starts with a beautiful piece played on matka (which is widely used in Carnatic Music). It can even replace dholak in many songs. Shreya starts with the song first and I liked the song in first hearing itself. Everything is very impressive about the song. I really liked the way Shreya sings her first line which doesn't have the space to breathe. Its a very unique romantic song and again, one of the best Malayalam songs of Shreya. Naresh has given good company to her in the second antara. So far, all Malayalam songs of Shreya have been fabulous. Hope we'll get to hear more Malayalam songs by Shreya in near future.

Shreya's song in Jhoota Hee Sahi

Shreya has tweeted last year(when she joined Twitter) that she had sung for AR Rahman in 1-800 Love. To the ones who are still not aware, let me tell them that the title has been changed to Jhootha Hee Sahi. So, do not wait for 1-800 Love now!

The trailor of the movie was out last week and promo of the first song came out some two days ago and the great news is that the song is sung by Shreya. Its titled “Cry Cry” which is a duet with Rashid Ali. So, I am posting the trailor of that song here, though I had already posted it in the Twitter fanclub (@ultimateshreya) More talks on the song when the music will release.

Here you go:

Chori Chori - Kis Hudh Tak..

It’s the time to write about Shreya’s new Hindi song from the movie “Kis Hudh Tak”. Though the track list was out many days ago but the songs some more time to release. Shreya has one duet with Abhijeet in this movie. Lets talk about it now!

The song is titled "Chori Chori" and music has been composed by Abid Shah (never heard of him before). Since its a low budget movie, you cannot expect the song to be promoted well. Even the trailor is not on the music channels till now. Its a 3 minutes 35 seconds. Its a romantic song with simple instrumentation. We have heard songs like these before in the compositions of Dabboo Malik. The song has a flavor of 90s melodies and Abhijeet, after a long time has finally sung a song and I could feel the stretch in his voice in the first antara. Shreya, as always is sweet in the song but I am not too happy with the composition. Its a simple romantic song and Shreya has sung second antara.Though the tune is good, but there's something which is missing. Shreya rocks as usual :)

Autograph (Bangla)

Now I am going to write about new Bangla songs of Shreya. Its from the movie Autograph. Shreya has sung two beautiful solos in the movie composed by Debojyoti Mishra (who also composed Megher Palok).

The first song is “Chal Rastay” which runs for 4 minutes 14 seconds. The song starts with a beautiful piece played on Piano. The song is so wonderfully sung by Shreya. The way she has pronounced every word is trulu amazing.I am completely speechless. Fabulous composition by Debojyoti Mishra! The song has so much peace into it.The moment you hear it, you are completely in some other world. Its supported with light instruments. The background music is very soothing. It has some shades of Shantanu Moitra’s compositions. The more you hear this song, more you will get addicted. Hats off to Shreya and Debojyoti for such a wonderful song!!

Second and the last song is titled "Uthche Jege".Its again a solo by Shreya having duration of 3 minutes 35 seconds. Its not a melody exactly but sort of a melody with light western beats. Though I don't understand the language, but I guess its a song of celebration and happiness.Note the harmonies by Shreya at the end of the song. Our Nightingale is completely a rockstar!

Hope you will like both the song and please do not miss "Chal Rastay".
