Dhadkane Azad Hain - Shreya Ghoshal

It's been a long that I talked about any song in detail. So, I thought why not start with the most special song! Well, I am talking about the much appreciated "Dhadkane Azad Hain", a recent single produced by Shreya Ghoshal herself. She has gifted us unforgettable albums like Mon Kemoner Station, Humnasheen, Gulzar in conversation with Tagore and now, Dhadkane Azad Hain which happens to be a first ever single by her.

I was super happy when I got to know about this single but I was equally thrilled that the music has been composed by Deepak Pandit who is my personal favorite and a class apart musician(Not to forget, he composed the mesmerizing ghazals of Humnasheen, sung in the mellifluous voice of Shreya Ghoshal). The beautiful lyrics have been given by Manoj Muntashir. (Yes, the team of Naam Likh Kar is back to give us a musical ride again)

Giving a short brief about the song, the song starts with a beautiful shehnai piece, followed by a mesmerizing sargam by Shreya. The location is enchanting as well. Moving ahead,Shreya starts with the song and as the title of the song denotes, the azaadi( freedom, happiness) can be clearly seen on Shreya's face. The rhythm in the form of claps adds more beauty to the song. The first interlude comprises of a great Tabla piece and live strings section, followed by Shreya taking us to another world with her singing in the first antara. The antara is beautifully sung and the transition from "Tum chupakar dekhlo" to "Dhadkane Azad Hain" is what I loved the most. The second interlude has a beautiful violin piece, with Shreya humming in the background. The second antara is equally mesmerizing but what I loved the most is the live string section. The lines "Sheher-e-dil mein aaj bhi hai charaga tumse hi" happens to be my most favorite line in the song.

SUMMARY
- Shreya's nuances in the song is enough to mesmerize anyone.
- Deepak Pandit's amazing music direction
- Manoj Muntashir's beautiful lyrics
- The location
- Shreya's appearance

For those, who have still not heard the masterpiece, here you go!

Note: Make sure you do not download the song but buy it for a minimal amout of Rs.15/-. It becomes our duty to encourage singers who are coming with such great non-film music.

ps: The song is available on iTunes, gaana, saavn, etc.
