Finally, it’s the time to write about that pending Kannada song which I was talking in the previous post. The song is titled “Shuruvagide” from the movie “Maleyalli Jotheyalli”. Is sung by Shreya and Shaan.Music is composed by V.Harikrishna.
Well, the track runs for 4 minutes 20 seconds. Its a romantic song but it has a feel of little naughtiness too(guessing from the tune, not lyrics).You may guess that the song could be a peppy one after hearing the guitar piece in the starting.Shreya sings after the first line by Shaan.The song is a usual romantic number.The composer has used instruments like saxaphone,guitars,etc.Shreya gets to sing the last lines of each antara.The song also has a humming by a chorus singer which is quite impressive.Mostly,the lines are sung by the male singer but Shreya's lines are as always, delight to hear. I don't have much to say about the song as Shreya doesn't have much to sing(don't compare with Shukraan Allah , Soniyo,etc)
Finally, Shreya’s 5th Malayalam song releases. Her Malayalam songs have been mindblowing.I would have posted about this song 3 days ago but didn’t get much time as I am preparing a very special thing for a very special person(will let you know aftee I complete it)..ahh,most of you must be knowing what I am talking about.Anywayz,let me come back to the song.
As the title of the post suggests, the song is titled “Anuraga Vilochananayi” from the movie “Neelathamara”.Its sung by Shreya and P.Sreekumar.It has music by Vidyasagar.Shreya’s previous association with Vdyasagar(Tamil and Hindi) have been great. I am glad that Shreya has sung for him in Malayalam too.The song runs for 4 minutes 35 seconds.Its a melody. The track starts with a lovely tune played on flute.The male singer starts with the song.Shreya comes later in the mukhda singing in her honey - soaked voice.The lines which Shreya sings in the mukhda are outstanding as the notes changes after the male lines(hope you got it).Somehow,I felt the background was similar to that of Rafta Rafta from Hulchul,though it also had music by Vidyasagar but Anuraga Vilochananyi has completely different to offer otherwise.In one of the music reviews,I read that Shreya has pronounced the words even better than the malayalam singers.Well,its not a hard thing for Versatile Shreya.The antaras of the song are beautifully made,with beautiful instruments giving company to it.There's a beautiful humming by Shreya before the second stanza starts.Don't miss it.Its very impressive and I need to say anything about Shreya's singing here after because I don't think I am capable of doing that.Still,I have only one word to say: "Shreya is the best and very versatile".
I am sure you all are going to love this song.

Here comes the most awaited song of Shreya of 2009.Since last year,I have been eagerly waiting for this song.Its directed by Rajkumar Hirani(the one who directed Munnabhai Series) and produced by Vidhu Vinod Copra(Parineeta,Munnabhai Series).Shreya has had great songs with the previous movies of these directors.Be it Munnabhai MBBS or Parineeta or Lage Raho Munnabhai,all songs are counted as one of the best hindi songs of Shreya.
When Shantanu Moitra is the composer,then its obvious that Shreya is going to have a song(s) in that movie.Since its more of a male oriented film,so we could not expect more than one female song.It has already created a buzz among the bollywood freaks as a "rain song".Its again sung by Shreya and Sonu.Last year,we didnt see much of Shreya - Sonu duets but we got to hear many duets by them on later half of this year.The song comes from the same team of Shantanu - Swanand - Shreya.
This track has everything in it,from romance to naughtiness,etc.Shreya starts with the song singing "Gungunati Hain Ye Hawayein..........Aalam".After the slow motion lines,the singers starts with Zoobi Doobi having a touch of oldies.You may remember "Ye Nigahein"(not sung by Shreya) from Khoya Khoya Chand after hearing the track.Its a full on rain song.Versatile Shreya has again spread her magic in the song.The song has background like songs of 60s.It has a feel of OP Nayyar compositions.Shreya has modulated her voice amazingly in the song.I liked the way she sang Zoobi Doobi in different styles.It has some funny lyrics in between like "pagal stupid man".I am sure the song will be promoted well and its expected to be aierd this Saturday.The stanzas of the song are perfectly made according to the theme.
My verdict - One of the best songs of Shreya in 2009.
I wrote in the previous post that I would write about Aramaghe the next day but sadly,I was so pressurised by exams that if I had written about the song that day,it would have been a very short review and I didnt want that with such a lovely track.Lets come to the track.
The song is titled "Aramaghe" which is from the Kannada movie "Gokula".Its sung by Shreya and Sonu.Music is composed by Mano Murthy.Shreya has had many beautiful Kannada songs this year and Aramaghe is definitely one of them.The song is of 5 minutes aproximately.Its a beautoful romantic track.It has Mano Murthy touch but still very unique.The song starts with a beautiful tune played on Gitar(seems to be the favorite of Mano Murthy).Shreya starts the song with her soothing vocals after a little sargam by chorus.The track has amazing notes in it.the song is a usual romantic number but still,very unique and refreshing.Sonu Nigam has done a good job too.It seems Mano Murthy is a big fan of Shreya - Sonu duets.The percussions are amazing.The antaras are rocking.Its one of the best romantic songs I have heard in recent times.The song has an amazing feel to it.Mano Murthy has used Santoor,Gitar,etc.The santoor played between the last stanza sounds amazing.
I am completely addicted to the song.This song can surely be added in the "Best Kannada songs of Shreya".
I am here with my second post. This time it’s a solo which we fans always wait for. Remember Olave Brahmana??Its one of the best Kannada songs of Shreya composed by Sadhu Kokila and she is back with Sadhu in an upcoming Kannada Movie “Devru”.Shreya has one song titled “Doora Swalpa Doora”.
It runs for 5 minutes. As I told, it’s a solo by Shreya. Before I go ahead with the explanation part, let me tell you, this song is a masterpiece and sure to become a chartbuster if its promoted well. The track has a slight carnatic touch and is very very melodious.This one falls in the same category of Yaavudo and Hoovina Badadante.The composer has used light instruments.Flute is perfectly used in the song.My previous post was about a peppy song and this one is soothing.Shreya is so versatile !
Antaras are made beautifully,specially the high notes in the last lines of the stanzas are very appealing.Great orchestration.And I am no one to say anything about our Diva’s singing.She is the best as usual.
A must listen !

Wanted to write about the latest released Kannada songs of Shreya yesterday but gave myself one more day to hear the songs. Anyway ,lets talk about the first song “Premism Premism”
The song is from the movie “Premism”.It has music by Hamsalekha. Shreya has worked many times with Hamsalekha before. Premism is a duet with Rajesh Krishnan.It runs for 4 minutes 50.I won’t say it’s a peppy track nor I would say it’s a romantic track.Its a mixture of both. Feel of love arranged with slight western tunes at some places.Rajesh starts with the song and Shreya is back in her peppy avtar in this track.As I said,the song is a mixture of both peppy and romantic feel, the starting lines of the song is melodious and changes into higher notes starting from “Premism Premism”.Antaras are made beautifully.Shreya is sweet in the song,as always(I think I am writing this in every post but this is the fact!).Rajesh has given good company to Shreya.Hamsalekha has done a good job by mixing western and classical instruments.The female voice starting from 4:17 is not of Shreya’s.
Firstly, I am very sorry for posting a bit late. Could not give many hearings to this song. Thanks to my college assignments. But finally gave 2 -3 hearings today and here I am with a new post.The song is a tamil one titled “Naangu Kangal” from the movie "Naan Avan Illai".Its sung by Shreya and Javed Ali. Music is given by D.Imman.Lyrics are penned by Pa.Vijay.
The track runs for 4 minutes 38 seconds.It has a typical D.Imman touch.I have heard only three songs by D.Imman so far(Unnai Mathiri and Aaradi),this one being the third one and I found a similarity between all the three songs i.e.the background.Talking about the song,its a romantic track(though I don't understand the language,can assume it through the tune).Shreya starts with the song after a haunting tune.Javed Ali has given good company to Shreya.The track has small small alaaps in between(starting of the stanzas).You will surely find a similarity between Unnai Mathiri and Naangu Kangal.The track also has a slight classical touch.Shreya,as always is soothing in the song.It also has a beautiful alaap at the end of the song by Shreya.Overall, a very melodious song and has a very strong touch of D.Imman.Hope to hear more Tamil songs by Shreya this year.

I still cannot believe that I met my idol “Shreya Ghoshal”.It was such a special moment. I didn’t want my previous post “Met My God” to go unnoticed, that’s why I am posting a little late about Shreya’s next song. One week ago, I was less of words but still wrote many things in the previous post I could remember. There are still many things left which I wanted to discuss. Lets come to the song.
Shreya’s latest Hindi release is from the movie “Marega Saala”. Music is composed by Dabboo Malik The song is titled “Aankhein Tumhari” sung by Shreya of course and Sonu Nigam. The track runs for 5 minutes approximately. Its a romantic number and has a Dabboo Malik stamp on it. Shreya has worked many times with Dabboo Malik this year.Though he is not a famous musician,but some of his melodies are great.Coming back to the song,Shreya has sung the last stanza whereas the mukhda and the first stanza are sung by the male singer(just like Don't Say Alvida).The composer has used light instruments in the song and Shreya's voice is angelic as usual.The stanzas are quite similar to that of "Thoda Sa Pyar Hua Hai" from "Maine Dil Tujhko Diya",though Thoda Sa Pyar was also Dabboo's composition.Note the lines "Chain Mil Raha Hai Thoda".....they are exactly similar to the stanza of Thoda Sa..Anywayz,the song is very lovely.
ps:I'll always be thankful to you Shreya.Its really nice to see that you have immense love for your fans.I have no words.You are not only the best singer,but also the best person I have ever come across.
pps:I just saw the track listing of Mani Ratnam's Ravana and Shreya has a duet with Sonu Nigam in it but I really doubt the track list.It seems fake to me.There has been many sites providing fake track listing of movies these days.Also,Ravana will take more time to get released.The trailer is not even out.
As we all know,Sheya is there in an networking site “Twitter”. Some days ago, I read an update from Shreya.She said “Going to Delhi for National Award Ceremony”.I felt very happy after reading the update but I was tensed too,as I knew there was no chance of meeting Shreya as she would be coming here just to collect the award.But still I sent her a tweet.I asked her if she could tell the time when she’ll be going back to Mumbai so that I could meet her at the airport.15 minutes passed,I didn’t get any reply.I was very sad.But I didn’t knew that a “special message” was waiting for me.After 10 mnts,I got an tweet from Shreya saying “I have sent you a direct msg.Check it”.Immediately,I saw my direct messages in twitter and I was completely shocked as I got the private message from the Nightingale herself.She told me the name of the hotel where she was staying and gave me the time of 3pm to meet her.I got this message from her around midnight.I replied to her again asking the details.She told me everything and went offline after a goodnite msg.
It was 12:30am when I was roaming here and there,from one room to another room.Finally,I slept at 3:20 am and woke up at 6:30 am.Went to temple and prayed to God that the plan of meeting Shreya should not get cancelled.I have been waiting for this moment since last 7 years.Somehow the time passed and at 10am,I went to the stationery shop and bought a coloured scrapbook.I wrote a very big article in the scrapbook.I chose 4 articles from my blog and pasted it in the book.One work done.My next step was to buy a beautiful gift for Shreya.I went to Archies and bought a beautiful Lord Shiva Moorti and a bunch of chocolates.After packing them,I wrote my article and prepared my scrapbook.I didn’t get any msg from Shreya today,so I got confused if Shreya was still there at the hotel.

It was Shreya’s mom who picked up the phone.
Me:Good Afternoon Mam,This is Nishant
Shreya’s Mom:Oh Nishant.Just a minute(She transferred the call to Shreya)
Me:Hello mam..Good Afternoon.This is Nishant
Shreya:Haaaaan…..Hi Nishant,You come here by 3 pm na.I’ll be having some other guests too.I’ll meet you there.I’ll be leaving from here by 4 pm.
Me:O God…I cant believe dis..I was dumb !!
Shreya:Please don’t say that.
Me.Thank You so much for trusting me (Conversation stopped).
Shreya gave me the time of 3 pm but sadly,because of the usual traffic of Delhi,I reached there 10 minutes late.I immediately asked the receptionist if Shreya was there.She again connected the phone to Shreya’s room and her mother picked again and said , “Hi Nishant,Shreya is coming downstairs”.
I waited at the lobby for 20 minutes and I was sitting on the sofa.Suddenly,I looked on my left side and found none other than Shreya standing and talking to her mother and other relatives.I went there immediately with the gifts and introduced myself to her in shivering voice.I touched her feet and took her blessings.She said “God Bless U”.She told my father that she has been following my blog and information for so long.She said that everyone says that Nishant is your biggest fan.I ws standing like dumb.I didn’t know what to say.I was very nervous.Her mother was standing next to her.I touched her feet and took her blessings too.She said,”I am so happy that Nishant has come here.We were talking about you in our room just now”.Then I introduced her to my father and sister.She was so humble to take many pics wid me.She herself said to my sister “ ab main Nishant ke saath acche se pic leti hoon”.She kinda hugged me and took the pic.She is so sweet.I have never ever met such a down to earth person in my life.I was not wrong when I used the word “GOD” for her.Its a very unique feeling.I don’t feel like demanding anything from God now.He has given me the best gift.She saw my scrapbook which I prepared for her.I asked her some questions.My mind was completely empty that time.I asked her whatever I got in my mind.
I asked her “How it has been recording for Ilayaraja so far”?
She said “He is the God of Indian Musicians,though he is very strict.Whenever he enters the studio,everyone gets silent.
I asked if she has sung in Balki’s Pa for Ilayaraja?
She said,many songs were recorded and many were deleted again and again from the movie.She may or may not have songs in this movie.
I asked her about future offerings with Ilayaraja.
She didn’t remember much but said she has sung one or two songs in Pazhassi Raja(Hindi Version).
I also asked about Ilayaraja’s sons Yuvan and Karthik
She said Yuvan is more into hip hop but he is very very talented and she also praised Karthik Raja(I’ll upload dis video).
Her mom said,”please come to our home whenever you come to Mumbai.Either call Shreya or her brother whenever you come there.”
Her mom was treating me exactly like her own son.I felt as if I am talking to my own mother.
After that,Shreya hersrlf introduced me to Shankar Mahadevan’s assistant who was so polite.I shook hands with him.She also introduced me to her lovely Aunt and Uncle.I was so shocked that everyone from her Uncle to my mom knew me already.they were treating me like their own son.
Suddenly,I found Shankar Mahadevan at my back and I touched his feet too and he gave me blessings but he was in a hurry,so could not take a pic with him.Anywayz,the 1st aim of my life is fulfilled and 2nd aim of my life is to become a composer.Shreya said,”Please compose songs,phir saath mein baht se gaane gayenge”.Gosh…A BIG COMPLEMENT.
I will cherish this moment forever.I wish these 15 mnts come again and again in my life.

We all know that Shreya’s association with Salim – Suleiman has always been outstanding.Be it Aaja Nachle,Dor or the recent one Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.Some days ago,I informed about Shreya’s presence in an upcoming Hindi Movie Kurbaan starring Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.Its produced by Karan Johar and directed by Rensil D’ Silva.As I told earlier,Shreya has sung a duet with Sonu Nigam titled “Shukran Allah”.Lets come to the song.
The song has Salim – Suleiman stamp all over.Well,what I doubt in most of the duets came true this time !.Shreya has only 2 lines in the song,just like Soniyo from Raaz 2 .The song is so melodious but sadly,85% of the song has been given to the male singer.I wish it was a solo of Shreya.Since she has sung only 2-3 lines in the last stanza,I’ll just give the outline of the song.The song starts with Salim’s vocals rendering “Shukraan Allah”.It has many Urdu lyrics.Sonu Nigam starts with the song and continues till the end and sadly,Shreya gets some lines in the starting of the stanza.The song runs for 5 minutes approximately.Shreya comes at 3:32.Shreya is,as usual,soothing.I just feel like hear those lines again and again.I wish Shreya gets a solo with Salim – Suleiman next time.
ps:I recently came across an article which talked about lack of female singers in Bollywood movies.I completely agree with the article.Take the recent movies like Tum Mile,Wake Up Sid,etc.Tum Mile doesn’t even have a single female vocals.A fake track listing came before the music release and it had two songs of Shreya.I thought that Pritam has changed the trend of making only male singers sing in Mahesh Bhatt’s movies but I was wrong.He still continues with the same.Take the case in Kurbaan itself,it has all the male vocals.Only few lines are given to Shreya in Shukraan Allah and one song is given to the other female singer.Thats really not fair !
